Janiece Senn’s recent mixed media work with fables, ‘Sweet Dreams & Nightmares’, can be seen as both playful and a little darker – something like a child’s nightmares with monsters, robots and such, but with a touch of whimsy and humor. Otherwise known as “Whimzwhirled,” the artist offers loads of eye candy. Her motto: “Enough color to make a rainbow blush!”

Janiece Senn’s life as an artist began at age five when her grandmother put an embroidery needle and thread in her hand and said, “Make me something pretty.” Her grandmother also took her across the creek to an old abandoned dump to dig for ‘treasures’ – and so began her mixed media/recycling obsession. Her grandmother taught her to look at all things beyond what they were to what they could be. Janiece was launched on the path to fine arts studies woven through every media imaginable, winning several awards and scholarships along the way, and producing a modest but sustainable career over the past 30 years. You can view mosaic work by Janiece Senn locally at The Venice Café, Frazer’s Restaurant, BB’s Jazz, Blues and Soups, and Mangia Italiano.

Exhibiting ‘Sweet Dreams & Nightmares’ through May 31! Open hours daily prior to scheduled yoga classes or by appointment. Marbles Yoga Studio and Art Gallery is located at 1905 Park Avenue, just east of Mississippi, in Lafayette Square. For additional information call 314.791.6466 or visit www.marblesyoga.com.
