National Child Abuse Awareness & Prevention Month in the CWE

On a beautiful Spring day two events in the Central West End of St. Louis resonated with National Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month.

Ashley Rhodes-Courter’s memoir “Three Little Words” focalized a room filled with adoption and foster care reformers at Left Bank Books which donated 10 percent of all purchases to CASA St. Louis County (Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children) as did three participating adjacent restaurants.

St. Louis Actors’ Studio at The Gaslight Theater presents Sam Shepard’s hilarious and sorrowful “The Late Henry Moss” through April 20th. This family saga is perhaps not consciously presented as part of National Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month…but, coming from the Ashley Rhodes-Courter’s talk and reading, I saw it through that lense.
