These are the qualifications for this prestigious award:

Southern Illinois University Edwardsville has produced over 80,000 graduates who have earned more than 90,000 degrees. These graduates have gone on to achieve tremendous success in their chosen field of study.

To honor their success, The SIUE Alumni Association, along with the Deans of the Schools and Colleges of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, created the SIUE Alumni Hall of Fame.

The Alumni Hall of Fame recognizes and honors SIUE alumni who, through leadership, character and hard work, have made exceptional contributions in their chosen field, communities and at SIUE.

Each college honors up to two alumni every year. Due to the complexity of its programs, the College of Arts & Sciences inducts four alumni every year. The honorees are recognized with a commemorative plaque displayed in a prominent place within each of the respective Schools or College. They are also honored at the SIUE Alumni Hall of Fame Awards Dinner during Homecoming weekend.

All honorees must have earned a degree from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Additional criteria for selection will vary based on the individual College’s nominations forms but could include recognition of the following achievements:

* Established an outstanding professional career
* Made significant contributions to their chosen profession
* Demonstrated civic awareness and concern for their community
* Established a distinguished reputation at either the local, state, national or international level which reflects great credit and honor upon SIUE
