How to Pack (truth and humor)

Old-school travel

It’s hard to leave home. I pack at the last minute. Sort of. It’s a layered affair.

1) The basic layer is a suitcase always at the ready with toiletry kit and swimsuit and such ready to go at a moment’s notice, anywhere, anytime.

2) Then, as I ready for a trip, I wonder around the house, and as I spot things, I think: “Oh, I could use that,” or “They would like that,” and I place these items in or near my suitcase. This takes care of the specifics of the destination. Annette, when I described this process, said: “Oh, that’s tender!”

3) Finally, as close to take-off as possible, I throw in a few clothes.

Bye-Bye!
