Debbie Jordan’s “The World I Imagine” brings gratitude to life

Debbie Jordan's The World I Imagine: A creative manual for ending poverty and building peace is a collection of 47 essays originating in the column she writes for the Arizona City Independent Edition. We can find solutions to pressing social issues through community involvement and volunteerism.

We've all experienced random acts of kindness. I love the notion of "Pay it forward." When I passed the toll booth on the Bay Bridge between Oakland and San Francisco it was not uncommon that there were a chain of motorists paying for the driver behind them. This type of communal generously adds to a sense of goodness in the world.

Sure it's Thanksgiving, but let's keep that going all year long.

What if we kept the gratitude conversation going? What if we could use that force for peace and social justice?
