Frost/Nixon and Milk: Same Neighborhood

In my St. Louis neighborhood movie theater inside the Chase Park Plaza Hotel, I viewed two Oscar nominated Best Picture candidates: Frost/Nixon and Milk. By this time, I’m sure you know their stories, so I’ll use this space to note how similar they are.

1) They are both about political figures. Duh.
2) They both define political moments in our nation’s cultural history.
3) They both take place in the late 1970s. The Frost/Nixon programs aired during the summer of 1977. Harvey Milk was assassinated on November 27, 1978.
4) They both cover controversial political figures and how they made their decisions.
…and so on.
But, clearly, neither one ever met in real life…nor would either one have approved of the other and his actions or career.
